PSG's Fabian Ruiz has pulled out of the Spain squad for the September international break. The midfielder arrived at the training camp with a muscle problem and has been released by the RFEF medical team.

Problems for Spain ahead of their quest to qualify for the 2026 World Cup. Luis de la Fuente will be without Fabian Ruiz, a key player in the 'La Roja' midfield, for this September international window.

The Paris Saint-Germain player had been called up by the coach, but has withdrawn at the last minute due to a muscle problem, as confirmed this Monday by the RFEF medical team.

As a result, Fabian will have several days to rest and recover from a physical issue seemingly stemming from PSG's recent match against Toulouse. The Spaniard played the entire Ligue 1 match, but felt the problem afterwards, ruling him out of the Spain squad.

The reigning European champions begin their journey to the next World Cup with two tough away matches against Bulgaria and Turkey this September. If all goes well, the player should be available for the October international break, in which Spain face Georgia and Bulgaria at home.

Fabian's absence is the second blow to De la Fuente's midfield in the 26-man squad. The first was Gavi, due to a problem in his right knee that prevented him from playing for Barcelona in Vallecas and joining the Spain camp. Aleix Garcia, midfielder for Bayer Leverkusen, has been called up by the coach, who is considering whether to fill Fabian's spot.
