The Football Association have been left with egg on their face as they've had to throw out 4,000 T-shirts with a quote from former manager Sam Allardyce.

The T-shirts were due to be given out at England's next match against Malta, but have now had to be thrown away.

The T-shirts contained the slogan "The journey starts with us all pulling together" but unfortunately for Allardyce and England, the journey barely started.

The FA also planned a mosaic of coloured cards in the stands which has also had to be dropped.

If this wasn't embarrassing enough for everyone involved with the England national team, Allardyce had sent the players postcards on the very day he was sacked, saying "Our journey has begun. Looking forward to seeing you soon".

However, the journey ended before it had barely even begun for Allardyce...
