The ex-Real Madrid player, Cristóbal Maldonado, has died of a heart attack at 71.
The ex Paraguay international passed away at his home on Sunday. He is one of the few players from Paraguay to have played for Real Madrid.
Maldonado, or 'Verdugo' as he was called in Paraguay, played 1 season for Real Madrid in 1974-75. He also won the U-20 South American Championship with Paraguay in 1971.
He also played for another Spanish team, Burgos, as well as playing for Paraguayan teams Libertad, Colegiales and River Plate, and the Venezuelan team Deportivo Italiano.
