Patrice Evra took advantage of his recent retirement from professional football to review his career. The defender talked about the death threats he got after accusing Luis Suarez of racism in 2011.

During a match between Manchester United and Liverpool, Patrice Evra accused Suarez of calling him a "negro" on up to seven occasions and the Uruguayan was punished severely by the FA.

The striker was banned for eight matches and fined 40,000 pounds. A big punishment which caused Liverpool fans to threaten the Frenchman.

Nevertheless, Patrice Evra, in an interview with the 'Daily Mail', assured that he holds no hard feelings towards Luis Suarez: "I never hated him. I wanted to punch him at the time but for me to hate someone is impossible. I don't have hate in my heart.

"I can react but hate is a strong word for me. When I was asked to pick a team of my best players, I named Suarez as one of my XI. He was the best striker at that time," he added.
