Everton have revealed that they have opened proceedings to investigate some of the fans who were singing racist chants against Son after he injured Andre Gomes.

The Everton-Tottenham game stayed in the background after what happened with Andre Gomes, who was seriously injured on the pitch. The Portuguese suffered a fracture dislocation of the right ankle after an action involving Aurier and Son.

The Korean was sent off and left with his head in his hands over what had happened. The tears soon appeared and the spurs player had to be consoled.

In the moment that he saw the red card, some fans started chanting racist abuse against the player. In fact, the DAZN cameras captured the moment when a follower made out-of-place gestures.

Faced with such a situation, Everton has opened an investigation to try to catch those responsible.
