Jonny Evans says Leicester City players and staff have benefitted from the international break, which has helped to calm emotions at the club after the tragic death of Vichai Srivaddhanaprahba.

Northern Irishman Evans thinks that the international break made for a good distraction for the Leicester City players, who have had a tough time in recent weeks.

After two highly emotional matches, the latter being their first return to the King Power Stadium since the tragic death of the club owner, the players all departed to fulfill their respective international committments.

Evans believes that the break has helped the club to move forward after an intense inital mourning period.

Speaking to 'Sky Sports' ahead of the side's trip to Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday, Evans said: "The last two games our emotions were heightened. There was a lot of adrenaline because the emotions were so high, especially in that first game against Cardiff. You could sense it when you came onto the pitch. I think it will maybe help us going forward that we've now got those two games out of the way."

He continued: "We can try and keep our emotions at a certain level so we're playing the game in the right way."

When asked if the club had returned to a seeming level of normality, Evans responded by saying: ""I hope we can get that. Everyone will be fighting for that and we don't get carried away with our emotions in games."

He concluded: "We've been away on internationals, some of the lads have just come back in today so it will be good to get everyone back together and start preparing for the game against Brighton."

Leicester City will be hoping to pick up a sixth win of the season at the AMEX  on Saturday, which would stabilise their 10th placed position in the table.

However the match will be far from easy, as opponents Brighton are also progressing well this season; a win for the hosts would see them draw level with the 'Foxes' on 17 points.
