Bournemouth striker Evanilson will be available to face Arsenal this weekend after the club’s appeal against his controversial red card versus Manchester United was upheld.

Evanilson has had his ban rescinded following Bournemouth's successful appeal of the straight red card he received in Sunday's 1-1 draw with Manchester United.

The Brazilian striker was sent off in the 68th minute after a late tackle on Noussair Mazraoui, and referee Peter Bankes upgraded his initial yellow card to a red following a VAR review.

Bournemouth argued that Evanilson slipped before making contact, a claim backed up by video evidence and ultimately accepted by an independent regulatory commission.

Manager Andoni Iraola had criticised the original decision, calling for ‘common sense’ and insisting the red card was unjustified.

The successful appeal means Evanilson will be available for Bournemouth's next Premier League fixture against Arsenal on Saturday.

"We can confirm that Evanilson has had his red card from Sunday rescinded. He will be available to face Arsenal this weekend," said Bournemouth on X.
