The authorities have declared next Sunday's Catalan derby between Espanyol and Barcelona, to be played at the RCD Stadium, as a "high-risk match". The 'Cules' will be crowned champions if they take all three points.

The Anti-Violence Commission has declared next weekend's Catalan derby between Espanyol and Barcelona a "high-risk match".

The match, corresponding to La Liga matchday 34, will be played on Sunday 14th May at the RCD Stadium at 21:00 CEST, a venue that will host approximately 40,000 fans.

It will be a decisive duel in the final stretch of the season, as Xavi Hernandez's side will be crowned LaLiga Santander champions if they can beat Espanyol.

Barca could even go into the game with the title in their hands if Real Madrid and Atlrtico lose their games against Getafe and Elche respectively.

Meanwhile, Luis García's side will also face a key match, as the 'Periquitos' are fighting to avoid relegation to the second division. A win could bring them closer to survival, but a defeat could condemn them to relegation.
