Emerson did not train and passed medical at Tottenham
The Brazilian full-back for Barcelona will be announced in the next few hours as a new Tottenham player. His time at Barcelona will have lasted just three games.
Barca trained on a busy day at the club's offices without Emerson Royal. The former Betis player had his medical at Tottenham and received permission from the club not to train with the rest of his teammates.
Emerson, who will leave for around 30 million euros with adds on included, will leave Barca after just three appearances. Barca co-owned the player with Betis before buying him outright in the summer. Betis will also get five million euros from this transfer.
The Brazilian international's move will be made official in the coming hours. Emerson preferred to stay at Barcelona although it has been proven that he will struggle to start because of Sergino Dest.
Contrary to what was expected, his departure will not lead to the Catalans buying a player because Ronald Koeman's plan is to use Dest, Sergi Roberto and Mingueza in that position.
The American will maintain the responsibility and Emerson Royal will try and keep on growing as a footballer in North London.
