Eight policemen injured in Lyon after fan violence

Lyon fans fought the police on Thursday when their side faced CSKA Moscow in the Europa League. The troubles led to eight policemen being hurt, in yet more fan trouble in the European competition.
Trouble started just before kick-off of the last-16 second leg tie at home to CSKA Moscow when between 100 and 150 fans squared up to police outside the stadium.
According to sources, they threw projectiles which damaged police vehicles.
Eight police officers sustained injuries during the fighting, and three arrests were made.
Meanwhile, there were similar troubles in Bilbao, as Marseille fans scrapped with the Basque police force. There were injuries there too, as a security officer was stabbed in the neck with a sharp object.
