Russia took the lead early in the second half of their clash with Egypt, as Hector Cuper's side conceded an own goal.

After a fairly uneventful first half in the Group A clash, Egypt threw their clean sheet away within minutes of the restart, giving away a sloppy goal.

The goalscoring move started with a cross into the box, which Mohamed Elshenawy (maybe foolishly) decided to punch away

The ball was cleared from the box, but it fell straight to Roman Zobnin, who fired a shot into the box.

The shot itself would not have found the net, but when Ahmed Fathi attempted to clear, he instead scuffed it into his own net, past the helpless limbs of the keeper, to make it 1-0 to the hosts.
