According to the 'Times', the English Football League (EFL) are determined to formally complain against those Premier League clubs which decide not play in the League Cup or ask for the tournament to be scrapped.

The Carabao Cup's future is still being talked about in England.

There are Premier League clubs who are not happy with the tournament and are even considering not taking part in it anymore and they want it scrapped. according to 'The Times'.

Likewise, the cited source points out that the EFL, the competition organisers, are going to report those who opt for any of those paths.

You cannot forget that Klopp, at one time, threatened to pull Liverpool out of the competition if the quarter-final clashed with the Club World Cup, something which happened in the end.

But the 'Reds', who won the Club World Cup with their main squad, decided to put their kids out for the Carabao tie with Aston Villa. They ended up being beaten 5-0.
