Dyche unconcerned by lack of business

Burnley boss Sean Dyche says the club's lack of signings so far this summer is not a concern as football finances continue to spiral more and more out of control

The 'Clarets' are one of just three Premier League clubs yet to make a single signing this summer along with Everton and Ltottenham and have reportedly failed in moves for Craig Dawson, Jay Rodriguez, Alfie Mawson and Sam Clucas.

Whatsmore, Burnley get their season underway on July 26 when they face Aberdeen in the second qualifying round of the Europa League, giving the club precious little time to strengthen their squad.

However, Dyche insists he will not be panicking as the transfer deadline rapidly approaches.

"There's lots of different changes in the market every window it seems," he explained.

"The bar got set high here with one of the first domestic transfers with James Maddison going to Leicester (for £22m from Championship side Norwich).

"I think that pushed the boundaries and then it's a knock on effect - everyone wants everything they can get. It does make it difficult but it's not new to us, we've been down this road before."

Dyche and Burnley are famed for their frugal approach in the transfer market, but Dyche believes that rising prices are a concern for all clubs and not just the 'Clarets'.

"Teams are waiting and waiting to push the margins," he continued. "Clubs that do get the money in, you know they've got to put it back out there.

"It's just tough for everyone, it's not just us by the way. We have our challenges, we know that - it's well documented about our financial model compared to others but it doesn't make it easy for anyone."
