Sean Dyche was disappointed at the reception received by his former Leeds men Chris Wood and Charlie Taylor when Burnley were knocked out of the Carabao Cup.

Burnley's trip to Leeds was made all the more significant by the returns of Chris Wood and Charlie Taylor to their old stomping ground.

The former Elland Road pair were on the losing end as Burnley were knocked out on penalties, but were also subject to jeers by the home crowd.

"It's a strange business, football," said Dyche.

"Twenty-odd million they've made for a club (in transfer fees) and they get slaughtered. I don't know anymore how fans react to players, ex-players, all that stuff, but that's football now.

"Those two have been fantastic servants to Leeds, if I'm honest. But Woody has done fantastically, walking onto our pitch and scoring, and again in the shootout."
