On Thursday night, several men broke into the home of Gianluigi Donnarumma and his girlfriend. The PSG goalkeeper spoke to 'Libero' about the sad incident.

Gianluigi Donnarumma and his partner were the victims of an attack and burglary at their home in Paris on Thursday night.

The couple, who were taken to hospital after the incident, were "tied up" by "several individuals" at gunpoint, a source close to the case confirmed to 'Eurosport'. The criminals made off with a haul estimated at around 500,000 euros (watches, jewellery, luxury leather goods) before fleeing the scene.

The Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper recounted this sad night in the columns of Italian newspaper 'Libero': "I was immobilised and Alessia was forced to hand over everything precious we had. I've been working with the French police to try and reconstruct everything that happened with them."

"I was powerless, tied up, I couldn't do anything. Then, I don't speak French that well and it was difficult to explain to these people where everything was. Alessia was even more frightened. There were some really agitated moments of deep terror, especially fear for herself. Fear that they would hurt her," added the Italian goalkeeper, visibly moved.

The day after the incident, Donnarumma boarded a plane with the PSG squad to take part in the pre-season training camp scheduled to run in Japan until the beginning of August.
