Arsenal beat Watford 3-1 away from home thanks to a string first half showing which saw Arsenal take a 3-0 lead at the break.

The Gunners raced into a 3-0 lead before the break thanks to goals from Cazorla, Sanchez and Ozil, meaning Watford had a mountain to climb in the second half.

Arsenal were ahead after just 10 minutes after Cazorla scored from the penalty spot. Younes Kaboul made a clumsy aerial challenge on Alexis Sanchez, leaving the referee with no option to point to the spot.

Watford created very few chances in the first half, but Arsenal almost made life difficult for themselves when Koscielny nearly turned the ball into his own net when defending a cross from the right.

Alexis Sanchez almost scored around 10 minutes before half-time when he played a neat one-two with Mesut Ozil, but the Chilean's shot was well saved by the feet of Gomes.

Sanchez then managed to get on the scoresheet in the 40th minute. Walcott put in a teasing cross from the right, and Sanchez made a poor connection. Despite this, the ball floated across the line and was rightly awarded a goal by the assistant referee.

It got even better for Arsenal in added time of the first half, largely thanks to that man Sanchez again. The ex-Barca forward crossed from the left to find Mesut Ozil, who timed his run to perfection and nodded past Gomes in the Watford goal.

Watford however, will be frustrated that nobody was tracking the German, who is not renowned for his heading ability.

The Hornets came back into the game in the second half with a much improved performance. New signing Roberto Pereyra managed to find the net after Arsenal failed to deal with a number of crosses and shots in a short space of time.

Arsenal then had a couple of chances which produced very similar finishes. Theo Walcott and Oxlade-Chamberlain both saw a chips from just outside the box go over the bar.

Mazzari's side almost set up a grandstand finish, but Petr Cech produced an impressive double save to prevent Capoue's long-range effort and then get behind Ighalo's rebound.

Ighalo almost had his first goal of the season when his bicycle kick from just outside the six-yard box flew just over the bar.

Watford then had a number of half chances but couldn't manage to beat Cech, meaning that Arsenal took their first three points of the season.

The Gunners looked much more impressive than in recent weeks and played like we all know Arsenal can in the first half.

As for Watford, they were made to pay for a slow start, but will be okay if they can reproduce their second half display for 90 minutes.
