Dembele will only stay at Barca if he asks for it
Barcelona will not offer Ousmane Dembele a renewal deal. Laporta is clear on his stance and the French winger will only stay at the club is he is the one to ask for it.
Joan Laporta does not want to continue with the Dembele saga. Because of this, the Barcelona president has ruled out offering the Frenchman another renewal deal. This is especially after Dembele turned one down during the January transfer window.
According to 'Marca', the club wants him to stay, but the board believe that he has already closed an agreement with another European giant. Because of this, they are not going to sit down with him for negotiations unless his representatives make a request to.
Everything points towards Dembele leaving the Catalan Capital. The winger has big clubs like PSG, Chelsea and Tottenham eyeing him up. PSG seem to be the leaders in the race for his signature at the moment.
Dembele's performances have been superb in recent weeks, with his best match being Barca's 4-0 win over Bilbao. He came off the bench to score an incredible goal and make two assists.
Nevertheless, Dembele's future looks to be elsewhere as he rejected a renewal deal at Christmas, and even wanted to leave during the window. His exit after 30th June is inevitable.
