Borussia Dortmund are demanding an astronomical fee for Ousmane Dembele, and the reason is that a clause in his contract forces the Germans to pay 25% of his transfer to former club Rennes.

Why do Borussia Dortmund want 150 million euros for Dembele? Apart from the astonishing market inflation which is making prices soar, 'Mundo Deportivo' revealed that the reason lies in a clause in the player's contract with Dortmund.

It seems 25 per cent of the fee Borussia Dortmund are hoping to receive will go straight to Rennes. The French club had the foresight to include the clause and are now set to fill their pockets out of the potential deal.

This premise allows us to better understand Dortmund's outrageous demands, as the Germans are hoping to hold on to at least 100 million.

Barcelona will try to cheapen the deal, but not very much. Nobody was counting on Rennes, who contribute to the colossal fee Barca will have to pay for Neymar's replacement.
