Brendan Rodgers is hoping for Dedryck Boyata's stronger return after his three-month knee-ligament injury.

Due to knee-ligament damage sustained in a friendly against Slavia Prague, the centre-back will miss Celtic's Champions League qualification fixture.

Brendan Rodgers hopes to have him back in contention by September, but he will be careful not to rush his recovery.

"We just need to asses it. Each individual recovers differently and some are quicker than others."

Rodgers believes that Boyota could join the Belgian squad. "It would be great if Dedryck can come back and get into the Belgium World Cup squad. He has all the tools to be there. If you look at the competition, it's strong with Jan Verthongen, Vincent Kompany and Toby Alderweireld."
