Diego González thought he had scored an own goal when trying to clear Martin Braithwaite's cross with Griezmann waiting behind him. However, De Jong tapped in on the line as the ball was about to go in and he was credited with the goal which put Barca 0-1 up.

Barcelona took the lead at the Martinez Valero in the final minutes of the first half. He did so with the help of defender Diego Gonzalez and Frenkie de Jong. 

After Pedri shot wide of the target. Martin Braithwaite put in a cross from the left hand side looking for Antoine Griezmann at the back post. 

The Frenchman was about to shoot, but Diego Gonzalez got there just before that to try and clear the ball. However, the Elche central defender ended up sending the ball towards his own goal. 

Edgar Badia was unable to reach after he had prepared himself for a Griezmann shot. De Jong hit the ball home right on the line to add to his goalscoring tally.
