'De Gea is United's only world class player'
Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville believes David De Gea has been unstoppable this season and is the only world class player in the 'Red Devils' squad.
Speaking to 'Goal' the footballer-turned-pundit gave a damming assessment of Jose Mourinho's squad, conceding: "De Gea's the only world-class player Manchester United have got. He's the only player that I would say has performed at a world-class level".
However, Neville did admit that Alexis Sanchez could still reach those heights once he finally settles in at Old Trafford, saying: "You could maybe say Sanchez, but not at Manchester United yet, even if he has been at a level for the last five or six years that you would say is world class."
It's difficult to argue with Neville's views given that the Spanish keeper has claimed the 'Red Devils' Player of the Year for three consecutive seasons between 2013 and 2016 and has been similarly impressive in 2017-18.
On numerous occacions De Gea has kept United in matches, such as in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie with Sevilla when he made a pivotal point-blank save to deny Luis Muriel and Mourinho will be hoping his star asset can put in a similar performance when the two sides battle it out in the return fixture on March 13.
