The Chinese Super League could be in dire straits after the news that 13 teams could be prevented from entering next season's competition due to not paying their players properly.

Reports claim that the vast majority of the clubs in the league have not been paying their players correctly, with the teams in question given until August 15 to pay off their arrears if they want to play next season.

The following CSL teams have all been implicated: Shanghai Shenhua, Shanghai SIPG, Beijing Guoan, Changchun Yatai, Chongqing Dangdai Lifan, Hebei China Fortune, Guangzhou Evergrande, Guangzhou R&F, Jiangsu Suning, Liaoning Whowin, Shandong Luneng Taishan, Tianjin Quanjian, Tianjin TEDA and been told to pay if they want to play.

The players affected would include many of the Western stars who made big-money moves East, including Carlos Tevez, Graziano Pelle and Oscar.

Just three top-flight sides are believed to be in the clear: Yanbian Fude, Hanan Jianye and Guizhou Hengfeng.

Teams for the Chinese second and third divisions have also been implicated.
