Liverpool thrashed FC Porto 5-0 in Wednesday's Champions League round of 16 clash, and watching on from the stands was a certain Philippe Coutinho. The Brazilian travelled to the Portugese town to cheer on his old club; was he a lucky talisman for the 'Reds'?

Philippe Coutinho is still following Liverpool closely, and this was well evidenced on Wednesday as the Brazilian made the trip from Barcelona to Portugal to watch his former club clash with FC Porto live in the flesh.

The 'Barca' player was clearly a lucky talisman for the Merseyside club, as they put five goals past the Portugese league leaders in a highly impressive display. The 0-5 victory makes Jurgen Klopp's side the highest scoring side in the Champions League this season, and sees them almost guaranteed to make it through the the quarter-finals.

The Brazilian made the most of the fact that he cannot compete in the Champions League in this second half of the season to cheer on his former club, although he may have been slightly miffed by the fact that they didn't seem to be missing him too much, with Klopp's front three of Sadio Mané, Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino firing on all cylinders. The blow of losing Coutinho to Barcelona has been softened by Salah's unprecedented start in a red shirt, with the Egyptian taking his tally in all competitions up to 30 goals.

There's no doubt that Coutinho is happy in Catalonia, but it's clear that the Brazilian hasn't forgotten about Liverpool...
