Philippe Coutinho is determined to play for Barcelona and it seems it is beyond Liverpool's control to keep him at the club. The Brazilian wants a guarantee from Anfield that he will be allowed to switch to La Liga, as revealed by the 'Mirror'.

Three Barcelona bids for Coutinho, including one final offer of £114 million, were rejected by Liverpool last summer, but the playmaker has his heart set on a move to the Camp Nou and that is not about to change.

According to the 'Mirror', Coutinho wants assurances from Liverpool that he will be allowed to join Barcelona next summer and there is nothing Jurgen Klopp can do to convince the Brazil international to stay at Anfield.

With the Catalans set to return for Coutinho next month, the compromise agreement would allow the 25-year-old to concentrate on Liverpool until the end of the season before sealing a move to the Camp Nou.

The deal would also give the Reds enough time to find an apt replacement as they prepare for their own spending spree, while Coutinho wants to reach an agreement in the next few weeks before Barcelona visit other targets.
