Coutinho's move to Barcelona, with the clock ticking for the transfer deadline, appears to be a fantasy. 'COPE' journalist, Helena Condis, stated on Friday that his signing is 'practically impossible'.

Discussions between Liverpool and Barcelona have come to nothing, and very little is likely to change in the final instances of the transfer window. Coutinho, almost definitely, will remain at Anfield for at least one more season.

'At this moment, Coutinho's arrival is practically impossible. The player feels powerless in this situation', radio broadcaster Helena Condis assured. And it is not only a huge blow for Barcelona, but also for the footballer himself.

When news of Barca's interest surfaced, Philippe Coutinho decided to leave Liverpool in order to embark upon a new advanture in Spain. He was at the heart of a tug-of-war which ended with him removed from the team, but his wish to join the La Liga outfit remained unfulfilled.

Therefore, unless Liverpool change their minds in the nick of time, Bartomeu's top target will not join the Catalan side. Barcelona have a few hours to announce the signing of an alternative to the Brazilian, but time is slipping away, and more so at the Camp Nou.
