Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has revealed that sometimes he hates being a manager due to the the gruelling workload it entails.

The former Italy boss led Chelsea to the Premier League title during his first season in charge but he has admitted that he often despises his job due to the sacrifices he has to make.

In an interview with style magazine GQ, given after it named the Italian one of its 'Men of the Year', Conte explained that although he has always had his eye on being a coach, it still frustrates him when he is forced to choose between his job and his family.

'I always felt I would do this, that this would be my life. But sometimes I hate it, you know. Sometimes I hate this job, because sometimes you lose your life,' he explained.

'If you want to do this job, to be a good coach, a great coach, you must sacrifice your life and sometimes I hate this. I have to think football 18 hours a day. I love it and I hate it. It is everything.'

Nevertheless, the 48-year-old said that despite the sacrifices and the worlkload, he couldn't live without football as it has been a major part of his life for as long as he can remember.

'To be without football for a whole day is impossible...I was born with a ball in the belly of my mother', he said. 'My mind is always on football.’

Chelsea fans will be hoping that Conte doesn't become too frustrated with life given the major impact he has had since joining the club.
