According to reports from Italy, Como and Cesc Fabregas have rejected a proposal from Bayer Leverkusen to acquire the services of the Spanish coach. The Germans wanted Cesc to replace Xabi Alonso.

Following Brazil's announcement that Carlo Ancelotti will be their next coach, the football world is waiting for Real Madrid to announce Xabi Alonso as their new coach. After some glorious seasons, the Spanish manager will be heading to the Santiago Bernabeu in a few days and will leave Bayer Leverkusen's bench, for which a multitude of names have already been mentioned.

In the long list of possible replacements, one of the great favourites was Cesc Fabregas, who is completing a magnificent Serie A after achieving promotion with Como last season. His possible landing seemed quite close, but the German team, in a turn of events, will have to look for another captain for their ship.

According to ‘Sky Italia’, the Italian club itself has already informed the German club that Fabregas will not move this summer and will remain at the helm of the club in the 2025-26 season.

With a contract until 2028 and after achieving a very comfortable safety, Como is expected to make a significant investment again in this summer market to take a step forward and, perhaps, aspire to higher heights in the next course.

A fact that may also motivate the decision of a Cesc who, in turn, is a shareholder of the team and, knowing firsthand the Italian sipe's plans, will want to continue growing as a coach at the same time as a northern Italian team that, money permitting, has been doing very well for several years.
