The right-back made it clear that he wants to continue developing under Zidane's management, speaking in a press conference after renewing his contract until 2022.

"I couldn't be happier. Me and my family are all lifelong Real Madrid fans. I've had the opportunity to win every title at Real Madrid, and I want to win them all again," Carvajal began by affirming.

With his heightened release clause now akin to other players in Zidane's squad, Carvajal dreams big. "By 2022 I want to go into Real Madrid's history books, and this team is making it's way there. I hope that on the day that I retire, everyone knows that I gave my all for this club."

Speaking about offers trying to take him away from the Bernabeu, Carvajal assured supporters that he never considered leaving, pointing towards his clause. "I don't bother listening to offers," said Carvajal. "I focus on giving my all, and the club are rewarding me for it. On both sides, we don't listen to offers. My clause is high to put off clubs trying to snatch me away."

Carvajal was visibly emotional after Butragueño's words of praise, and remembered his family's influence on of the most special days of his life. "I feel very emotional. I'm remembering all of my family's efforts, and I'm delighted that we're living the dream now."

"You're a symbol of what our youth teams represent. That kid from the Ciudad Deportiva had a dream, and now you're here, having won it all. You're an example to all the kids that train today, and we're delighted with this renovation," Butragueño told Carvajal.
