Manchester United youngster Tahith Chong trained with the first-team ahead of Tuesday's Champions League clash with Juventus.

Manager Jose Mourinho has given the 18-year-old a promotion to the first-team after impressing in pre-season and for United's under-23 side.

The Dutchman joined the 'Red Devils' from Feyenoord in 2016 and could now have the chance to make his debut for the club.

Alexis Sanchez and Jesse Lingard are both ruled out of the game with injury, so winger Chong could see some time on the field at Old Trafford.

United coach Kieran McKenna spoke of the youngster's ability back in 2016 after United's under-18 squad were beaten by Southampton, with Chong scoring for the 'Red Devils': "Tahith is a really good talent and a really good lad.

"We knew that he would be a big asset off the bench. The early stages of the game played out like we thought, a little bit cagey and not a lot of space.

"But we knew that once it opened up he would be really effective one to come on and he's scored a really good goal.

"I'm sure than when the disappointment of the game goes away, he will enjoy that moment.

"Hopefully he'll score some more goals on this ground in the years to come."
