Premier League champions Chelsea are considering invoking the €40m release clause of Barcelona midfielder Sergi Roberto.

Catalan giants Barcelona look set for a war on two fronts as they battle to stop PSG from invoking Neymar's release clause and at the same time try to prevent Chelsea from activating Sergi Roberto's.

The midfielder, who spent most of his time last season playing as a right-back has attracted interest from several Premier League sides this summer, but it appears that Chelsea have jumped straight to the front of the queue for his signature.

Fresh from signing Alvaro Morata, the Londoners look set to raid the Spanish market one again, as they target the hero of Barca's Champions League comeback against PSG.

Anotnio Conte's side are reportedly prepared to pay the player's €40m release clause and if they player is prepared to make the move, Chelsea will increase his salary significantly, such are the riches of the Premier League.

With Barca distracted by talk of Neymar leaving and the potential signings of Philippe Coutinho and Paulo Dybala as a replacement, Chelsea shown their hand as they look to add Roberto to their ranks this summer.
