Chelsea are reportedly making preparations to meet a £31million exit clause for Bayer Leverkusen's Benjamin Henrichs.

The 21-year-old's contract is not due to expire at Leverkusen until 2022, and is rated very highly among the young generation of full-backs in the Bundesliga.

According to 'The Sun', included in the contract is a £31million release clause, and Chelsea are prepared to meet the fee in order to bring the Germany international to Stamford Bridge in the summer.

Despite the instability in club hierarchy, with manager Antonio Conte's future at the 'Blues' looking increasingly uncertain, Chelsea are still going forward with their transfer plans for the coming season.

Last year, it was speculated that Manchester City would make a swoop for the youngster, and although it did not materialise, Henrichs has enjoyed a regular spot at Leverkusen this campaign.
