Reports claim that Chelsea are once again set to make a move for Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal when the transfer window reopens in January, having held a long-term interest in the player.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is thoguht to be a big fan of the Chilean and according to 'La Cuarta', the Italian is already looking for a way to convince the midfield dynamo to swap Bavaria for London in the New Year.

However, there are thought to be a number of stumbling blocks to negotiate, which could delay the deal until next summer.

Bayern are not actively looking to sell the man that they signed for €40m from Italian champions Juventus in 2015 and are actually considering extending his contract, with his current deal set to run until the summer of 2019.

The 30-year-old has established himself as one of the best midfielders in world fotball across spells at Bayer Leverkusen Juventus and Bayern Munich and would be a fine addition to the Chelsea engine room, with Comte often opting to play with a midfield three these days.

The aforementioned source claims that Chelsea plan to offer Vidal a 20% wage rise in order to convince him to jump ship, but it is too early to say right now whether he will be tempted by the offer or not.
