Amid talks of Zidane's interest and the Spanish club lining up a huge bid for the Belgian, Chelsea have opted to negotiate an improved deal in order to keep Real Madrid at bay.

Eden Hazard has been heavily linked with a move to the Spanish giants this Summer. However, Chelsea are aware of the Belgian's worth and are not about to let him go easily, even willing to make him the best-payed player of the Premier League.

According to The Sun, negotiations between Hazard and the club have already begun, and Abramovich is prepared to offer the player a mind-blowing deal to keep Real Madrid at bay.

The 26-year-old's new salary, approximately £350,000 a week, would be out of reach for a star-packed side such as Madrid's. Chelsea's scheme would therefore fight off interest from the Spanish giants and also quell Chelsea supporters' concerns, caused by incessant speculation.

Abramovich hopes the process of changing agents will not affect the deal, as the Belgian is set to do so in the coming weeks.

The Sun also assures Antonio Conte will be offered a new contract, owing to the club's great season which the Italian is seen as responsible for.
