Change of plans: Arsenal could renew Welbeck's contract
Arsenal are not entirely sure what to do with Danny Welbeck. His exit seemed certain a few months ago, but now the club will not rule out a contract renewal.
Unai Emery, manager of the Gunners, has himself confirmed that Arsenal are considering a possible contract renewal for Welbeck.
The forward was seriously injured last November, meaning that Arsenal had to rapidly consider their options.
Galatasaray were touted as a possible destination, but the situation has since changed dramatically.
In the case that Welbeck receives the go-ahead to return to the side and can play for the team in the coming weeks and months, Arsenal will be inclined to change their mind and offer the forward a contract renewal.
His current deal runs out in June of this year, and he has only two months left of this season to impress his current employers and earn an extension.
