When Danny Ings stepped onto the pitch at the Estadio do Dragao, he ticked a huge feat off his football bucket list.

On Tuesday night, Liverpool humiliated Porto in the last-16 of the Champions League, thrashing the Portuguese side 5-0

Danny Ings entered the fray late on as a substitue and now, in an interview with his club, has spoken out on the personal importance of that game.

"It was one of those things where you watch it as a kid and have a dream of playing in the competition," the Englishman said.

"So to come on and make my debut was a huge moment for me. I was very, very happy. But the most important thing was the 5-0 win - away at Porto, it's a huge result," he added.

Ings put his stamp on the game when he provided for Sadio Mane's hat-trick strike. The ex-Burnley man will now be hoping he can get more minutes in the competition as Liverpool search for a successful campaign.
