This season, Iker Casillas has amassed 7 clean sheets in 10 games for FC Porto, only conceding 5 goals in total. These numbers usurp those of the three keepers selected for the Spanish national side, De Gea, Kepa and Pau López.

Since his last appearance for 'La Roja', Iker Casillas has never publicly renounced the Spanish National Team. It was the decision of Julen Lopetegui to back David de Gea, which gave way to the continued absence of one of the best goalkeepers in the history of the Spanish National Team.

At 37, Casillas is in great form for FC Porto. Some have even suggested the 'Mostoleño could return to the international set up, although Luis Enrique is yet to call on him. In the most recent squad list, 'Lucho' opted to select De Gea, Kepa and Pau López.

In spite of this, Casillas boasts a superior record to the three keepers selected for the upcoming clashes against Croatia and Bosnia. In terms of league appearances, Casillas has kept seven clean sheets out of ten games played. In the remainder, the former Madrid man has only conceded five.

Needless to say, the level of the portuguese league is not equal to that of the Premier League or La Liga, but it remains true that Casillas has already amassed a strong porfolio of important stops both in the league and Champions League. De Gea, the 'La Roja' number 1, has already shipped 21 goals.

Kepa (of Chelsea) is the only goalkeeper that comes close to the numbers of the experienced Porto stopper, with six clean sheets and only eight goals conceded. Meanwhile, Pau López has conceded 13 goals with Real Betis.
