Carrasco put Atletico ahead early on and left Bartra on floor
Carrasco put Atletico Madrid ahead against Betis with five minutes gone in the match. The Belgian winger got his third goal of the season and gave Atletico fans much needed belief.
Atletico Madrid arrived in Sevilla knowing they had to react after inconsistent performances and results in the last few weeks. Real Madrid's win in 'El Clasico' meant Atletico had dropped to second going into the Betis game.
Simeone's men only need a draw to go back top, but they took just five minutes to go in front through Carrasco.
The Belgian began a move in the box which saw the ball end up at Correa's feet after a first time pass by Joao Felix. The Argentine tried to go one on one with Claudio Bravo, but the keeper and the defence narrowed down the angle.
The ball then broke to Carrasco again. The Belgian kept his cool, dummied to send Bartra to the floor and then tapped into an empty net.
Christian Tello then levelled for Betis on 20 minutes.
