Diego Simeone spoke to the press ahead of Atletico Madrid's La Liga clash with Sevilla. When asked about Yannick Carrasco and Fernando Torres, who have both been linked with moves to China, the Argentinian said the following:

"I don't have much to say. Carrasco is in negotiations, with regards to Torres, I have heard no update from the club", he made clear.

He indicated that he wouldn't worry about players leaving the squad until it happened, preferring to wait until the end of February (the end of the Chinese transfer window) before considering the situation. "When we get to the 28th and the market is shut we will talk about what could happen. There's no point talking about it now", he stated.

However, he admitted that he was concerned about the transfer market, explaining: "There's a worry, yes. With all the money about...it is not comfortable for coaches. The power to leave is in the players' heads".

He also outlined what he believed should be done to improve the situation. "It would be better to have a common date where all the markets shut, to make it easier for everyone", he claimed.

The Argentinian wasn't too keen on revealing his opinion on those who leave Atletico for smaller leagues. "I don't question individuals. As long as a player is growing, I'm happy. If it's a question of money, that's a personal matter", he explained.

"Nothing surprises me in football. Each person chooses what they believe to be best for them", the Atletico manager continued.

With regards to Sevilla, Madrid's next opponents in the league, Simeone said he expected it to be a tricky game. "It's an important game, against an opponent that, since we played them in the cup, have grown a lot. Winning will not ensure us Champions League football. There are still games ahead of us. We want to play well and make it comfortable for ourselves", he stated.
