Jamie Carragher thinks that N'Golo Kante needs to move back to a defensive midfield position to be at his best.

The Frenchman made his name as potentially the best defensive midfielder in world football for Leicester and in his first two seasons at Chelsea, as well as for his national team.

However, since Maurizio Sarri has joined the 'Blues' he has moved in to a more advanced midfield position to accommodate Jorginho, and former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher thinks that is a mistake.

"What I would say is Jorginho has been excellent this season. Teams are having to change their system and style to counter-act Jorginho. So that shows how important he is and how good he has been. " he told 'Sky Sports'.

"The one thing about Kante is he is a very average player in this [advanced] position he's playing now. I see a normal midfielder player.

"When he plays deeper, I see a world class midfield player."
