Former Liverpool and England defender Jamie Carragher believes that Manchester United can still win the title despite some indifferent form of late and hopes that Liverpool will also be challenging them for the Premier League.

Despite Carragher's well-known allegiances to Manchester United's fierce rivals Liverpool, Jamie Carragher believes that it is too early to write off the Red Devils for the Premier League title.

"It probably feels like that [Liverpool more likely to win Premier League than United] now, because of how Liverpool have started the season, but it was only two or three days ago we were saying it was going to be a shoot-out for the league between United and City," Carragher told 'Sky Sports News'

"I still think United will be right up there come the end of the season, the manager has got great experience of winning the Premier League, so I certainly wouldn't write Manchester United off at such an early stage.

"I think them, and hopefully Liverpool, will be up there fighting for the title".

Liverpool and Manchester United will go head-to-head on Monday 17 October in a fixture some would already describe as the proverbial 'six-pointer'.
