Dani Parejo could not finish the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona, but he was the one who faced the media after the final whistle, with Valencia having won the trophy. He could not contain his tears on remembering how difficult this season has been.

Dani Parejo, the Valencia player, declared this Saturday, after his team won the Copa del Rey after beating Barcelona 2-1, that he has "always believed in this group."

"I am very happy for myself, for my family. It is unbelievable. I have been at the club for eight years and I have been through bad moments," said Parejo to 'TVE'.

"A club like Valencia deserves joy like this. I'm speechless. Thanks to the people, to my teammates, the club, the coaching staff... We have made history," he added.

"It has been a very significant year for us because we are celebrating the centenary," Parejo pointed out. "It would have been an incredible year whatever happened tonight. I have always believed in this group. The party is for everyone," he concluded.

And all of that without being able to contain tears of sincere joy. Dani Parejo, a footballer who knows like few do what it is like to be a hero and a villain for his own fans, is living one of his sweetest dreams.
