Real Betis v Real Sociedad was full of controversy. VAR ruled Sanabria offside but Betis complained after the game. Sergio Canales has now put forward an idea to end the debate.

Betis lost 3-0 at the Vilamarín, but the referring caused more controversy than the result.

Tello wasn't the only one to complain about VAR after the game. Canales also backed his teammate.

Canales believes that the problem isn't VAR itself but how the decisions it makes are explained

"I don't often discuss referring or VAR decisions after the game, but this time I want to give my opinion. Sociedad were better on the night are Betis deserved to lose. On the other hand, I would like to see a referee or FA member come out and explain to us the criteria behind specific decisions that we don't understand. It's not just about Sunday", he wrote on social media.

The Betis player criticised two decisions: the Sanabria offside and a missed penalty decision. The club has appealed to the referee committee.
