Burnley keeper Pope sustains 'serious' shoulder injury

The England goalkeeper suffered a 'serious' sholder injury against Aberdeen in the Europa League yesterday.

Burnley have confirmed that goalkeeper Nick Pope has sustained  a 'serious' shoulder injury after colliding with Aberdeen striker Sam Cosgrove.

Says Clarets manager Sean Dyche has confirmed that Pope, 26, will be out for some time after he was forced off after only 14 minutes into the game. 

 

 

A statement on the club's twitter confirmed Pope's injury, "Sean Dyche confirms that Nick Pope has been taken to hospital following his injury. No further news at this time."

The 26-year-old was part of England's World Cup squad and won his first cap against Costa Rica in June.

Pope kept 11 clean sheets in 35 league appearances for Burnely last season.
