In an interview on former striker Christian Vieri's 'BoboTV' Twitch channel, Parma goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon revealed his retirement date. The goalkeeper will hang up his boots at the end of next season. He also said that leaving Paris Saint-Germain was a mistake.

At the age of 45, Gianluigi Buffon is still in goal for Parma, the club where he trained before moving on to clubs such as Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain, as well as being capped by the Italian national team.

The goalkeeper gave an interview on the 'BoboTV' Twitch channel, hosted by former footballer Christian Vieri. The goalkeeper spoke about various topics with the former Inter striker, but the most remarkable thing was what he spoke about his possible retirement.

"I would like to retire after next season, no later than that. I'm competitive, I don't want to be considered a number two. I'm always dissatisfied, I always take to the field to better myself," the Italian revealed.

"Leaving PSG? It was the big mistake"

The Parma goalkeeper moved to Paris Saint-Germain in the 2018-19 season. His time with the French club was very short. The goalkeeper made just 25 appearances, 24 of them as a starter.

"Leaving was the big mistake. I even gave up ten million euros. They told me at the training camp that they would have been happy to keep me, but that in the Champions League they would have liked to focus on Areola, a player from their youth academy. I didn't accept it, for me sport is for those who deserve to play," he explained.
