Gianluigi Buffon could have played his last game for Parma. The legendary Italian goalkeeper, who started the game against Cagliari, had to leave the pitch with the visitors leading 0-2 due to physical discomfort and his side ended up being pegged back in the closing stages.

Parma visited Cagliari in the first leg of the semi-finals of the Serie A promotion play-offs. Despite a good start from the visitors, the home side came from behind late on (3-2).

The bad news continued after the game was over. Gianluigi Buffon, who managed to keep a clean sheet in the first half, had to leave the field at half-time due to physical discomfort.

The team from the Emilia-Romagna region had started the match with a 2-0 lead, but in less than four minutes, Cagliari managed to come from behind and the finalist for promotion to Serie A will be decided next week.

The legendary goalkeeper could have played his last game in the Parma jersey, despite not having undergone the relevant tests, as everything seems to indicate that he has suffered a muscle tear.

Depending on what happens with regard to promotion, the former Juventus player could be set to retire at the end of the season.
