Legendary Italian goalkeeper has said that AC Milan's 17-year-old 'keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma is the "chosen one" to replace him as Italy's No.1, but the 38-year-old is not ready to give up his place just yet.

Donnarumma recently earned his first call-up to the Italian national side and is one of the best young goalkeepers in the game.

As well as been boosted by his first international call-up, Gianluigi Buffon has said that he is the "chosen one" to become Italy's next first choice goalkeeper. However, despite this, Buffon is not ready to give up his No.1 jersey just yet.

"Donnarumma is a chosen one," he said.

"There's a new project, and we're ready to make our quality available to the coach.

"When you feel you still have something to give then you're ready for a new project".

Donnarumma broke into the AC Milan first-team last season and played 31 games for the Rossoneri.
