Scott Brown limped off during Celtic's 9-0 thrashing of Shamrock Rovers, making him a doubt for next week's Champions League qualifier.

The injury came as further bad news for Brendan Rodgers' side, who are already without Belgian defender Dedryck Boyata. The former City man is expected to be out for three months after damaging knee ligaments in a friendly against Slavia Prague last month.

There are fears that club captain Scott Brown could now join Boyata on the treatment table after he lasted barely 30 minutes against the Irish minnows.

The Scot was replaced after just 32 minutes and limped down the tunnel with his knee heavily bandaged.

Any lasting damage would come as a massive blow ahead of Friday's Champions League qualifier against Linfield.
