Jim Ratcliffe, the richest Brit in the world, wants to buy Nice and stand up to the PSG bosses to win a Champions League.

According to 'AS', Jim Ratcliffe, who owns the oil company INEOS, wants to turn his attention to French football by buying Nice.

He has a clear objective: to develop a short term and long term project that could see Nice win a Champions League.

With this in mind, Nice could increase their chances of winning a Ligue 1 title. However, Ratcliffe would be rivalling Nasser Al-Khelaifi, PSG's owner, who also has his sights set on a Champions League title.

This would not be the first investment that an English multi-billionaire has made in the world of football, which this time would be a influx of an estimated 24.5 million euros.

Two weeks ago, Ratcliffe's company INEOS and the cycling team Sky made their partnership official. The team will now be known as Team INEOS.

Also, he has already tried to buy Chelsea many times, a team which is firmly in Roman Abramovich's grasp. Ratcliffe is reported to have offered Abramovich 2.3 billion euros for the West London club, and is still interested in linking up with Chelsea.

He has also held shares in FC Lausanne for two years now.
