Tottenham have completed the signing of defender Davinson Sanchez from Ajax in a club-record deal that could rise to 42 million euros.
The 21-year-old centre-back was also targeted by Barcelona among others, but he opted for the Premier League outfit, signing a contract with the club until 2023.
The former Atletico Nacional defender was a driving force behind Ajax reaching the Europa League final in his only season at the Dutch club.
Sanchez said: 'I would like to thank the coach, management, players and fans of Ajax. It is a great move for me to come here to develop my career'.
'I am very excited to be signing for such a famous club as Tottenham Hotspur. I am looking forward to working with Mauricio Pochettino and the players and meeting everyone there'.
