Barca won't sign Mahrez
It looks like Riyad Mahrez won't be joining Barcelona after all, as the club has denied the chance of a possible signing.
A new stage in the Mahrez transfer saga. Whilst it seemed like the player was going to join the Catalan giants in the next few hours, following reports that he was seen at Barcelona airport, Barca have come out and denied the possible transfer, due to the commotion that this news was causing.
According to Spanish news outlets 'Marca' and 'Sport', the Algerian winger will not sign for Barcelona, meaning his possible destination could instead be Chelsea.
Apparently, according to Catalan media, the possibility of signing of Mahrez is not feasible and the club have made it clear that they will be not making any room for the talented winger.
Following this news, it is unknown whether the player will stay at Leicester for another year, or try and make the move to another club which can provide him with European football and the chance to win trophies.
It is now unknown whether Mahrez stopped in Barcelona airport earlier today to push through the deal with Barcelona or just to make a stopover on his way to London, with Chelsea and Arsenal being two clubs who have been linked with him over the summer.
